Like clockwork, nearly the moment after Nathaniel closed his mouth, the phone began sizzling, burning Marcus’ ear in the process as he tossed the phone to the ground instinctively. An audible curse escaping his mouth as he gently rubbed the delicate skin on his ear from the burn. He now stared at these two intently. It was not that he wanted to; it was just that he couldn’t help himself. They were an enigma to him, their very existence, and their presence kept him on edge. The more he tried to figure them out the more it didn’t make any sense. The male, Nathaniel’s, previous comment of knowing that the phone wouldn’t work and the conversation they were having now about just escaping the last time and not having any objects or what not now, only further labelled them as suspicious and perhaps even more important to Marcus, interesting.
These two definitely knew something, as if they had an understanding of the situation, or at least had experience of it. Their insight and awareness of what was going on made Marcus feel like the odd one out in this situation, a fifth wheel if you will. He smiled amusingly at the strange thought he just had, feeling the odd one out between these two when they could very well kill you or maybe something else might. He also usually had a calm, collected mind in tense situations but this was the first time he amused such peculiar thoughts. These two were definitely throwing him off his usual game.
Wanting to question them on what they knew was going on here, the sudden flicker of lights interrupted him, dragging his attention away from his previous action as he examined the lights around the room. As abruptly as it started it ended again, silence once again taking command before a slam of metal rang through the area. Before he could question what just happened a shadow suddenly swopped down from above them. Marcus barely saw the shadowed figure in time, since his back faced towards it, before a gust of wind pushed him and their would-be attacker backwards. Seriously you got to be kidding me…again!, Marcus thought as he tried to fight off the sudden gale. What the hell? Is he the avatar or something?, he thought sarcastically, fixing Nate a quick glance before turning his attention to the dark shadow above. His hand once again instinctively rested gently on his pistol as he examined the air above. Things were getting out of his control fast. He had to come up with a plan to get out of here and get those two down to the precinct for questioning, until then they wouldn’t leave his sight he decided.
The bird once again made a dive for them, letting out a war cry as it headed straight for them. This time around Marcus evaded the attacker with much more ease than before, getting a glimpse of the creature as it flew under the beams of light. A falcon. His mind automatically pulled out random information from the few episodes of National Geographic that he watched when he was younger. Strange they weren’t known to attack people, yet this one continued to do so with some conviction. Once again the thought of using his firearm came to mind but he instantly dismissed it. He really was off his game today, wanting to use his firearm on a bird and in front of witnesses, just the paperwork alone would be troublesome, not to mention the earful the captain would give him.
No another method was required. He needed time to think and this bird was nothing more than an annoyance to him. He looked over to Nathaniel, keeping the bird in his field of vision constantly. ”Looks like your little wind really affected it just now. Maybe you can take it down with your wind, or at least keep it at bay?” Marcus couldn’t really believe the words coming out of his mouth. He was casually taking about manipulating wind just to take out a man eating falcon. Seriously what next, going to ask if you can’t maybe fly out of here… ”You don’t think you could maybe call up a little whirlwind and lift us out here?”, he asked, a slight amused grin appearing on his face. It was worth a try asking; after all it was a good opportunity for him to see what this guy was capable of and he was certainly interested to see exactly what abilities these two had.

Maybe you can take it down with your wind, or at least keep it at bay?”
Nate looked over at the detective, with a look of surprise. It was no surprise that the man realized that the wind was coming from him, not after his little unplanned demonstration. But he actually wanted him to release the wind? It was true that the wind was keeping the bird away from everyone but there was no way that he was going to be able to take down a bird with it. Also the wind was a serious nusiance in Nate's mind. It made him cold, it blew people around, but most importantly it made him cold.
A glint of something shiny drew Nate's eyes toward it. Damn. The gun was in the detective's hand. What little light that was streaming into the room was reflecting of part of the gun. Nate considered the consequences. It was either let down the wind and and get attacked by a bird and a guy with a gun, or keep the wind up to prevent the bird from getting to him and make said guy with gun happy. Better do what he tells me to do, Nate decided.
The young photographer let go of his concentration to let the wind blow freely. He held absolutely no control over the wind. He just hoped that the glowng rune on his chest could not be detected. When he generated wind, the rune would start to glow. He was wearing quite a few layers but there was still the chance that some of the yellow glow could be seen from some uncovered spot.
”You don’t think you could maybe call up a little whirlwind and lift us out here?”
Nate could not believe what he was hearing. What kind of power did the guy think he had. The most that he could do was stifle the wind that surrounded him. There was no way that he would be able to do something like that. But the question was to let him know or not? The man was dangerous no doubt, but how much information was Nate willing to let him know? "I don't have that much power," said Nate after a moment's pause. Perfect, give him a vague answer that answered his question but did not give away too much. This was a first for him, he had actually thought about his answer. Then again, the fact that the guy was a cop and that he had a gun on him could have helped. ________________________

The angry falcon darted through the room and released a shrill cry. It was then that a powerful gust of wind blew through the doors leading to the outside, slamming open a few emergency exit doors. It goes without saying how hysterical the birds were acting because of this strange phenomena. When the wind eventually diminished, the birds all resumed back to their normal selves. However, the falcon continued with its cries as it flew through an open door and down a corridor. From the room the trio were in, some rumbling could be felt through the floor and creaking of bricks could be heard. It appears that some sort of chamber with a staircase has been revealed where the falcon is now circling. A few of the doors to the bird house are now open, but something important quite obviously lies within the newly revealed staircase. And it seems that there's a rune emitting a slight glow on one of the walls of the chamber.
Posting order resumes with Nemi.

Her odd-colored eyes never left the little aerialist as she moved to dodge the attacks. What exactly had the trio done to make the shrilling creature so angry? It hadn’t been their fault at all that they were locked inside of the large birdhouse due to some divine being having some personal vendetta against them. The three of them were merely victims of the situation and had done nothing to the bird. Yet it was doing its damnedest to attack them, almost as if it was trying to ward them off. But why though? she questioned herself. Now Nemesis wasn’t exactly paying attention to the two males in her presence as she kept her focus on the falcon. However, her attention quickly shifted over to them at the detective’s mention of having Nate’s wind lift them up to the window overhead. Was he serious? From what she had seen of the purple-haired male, the minute he let his emotions get the better of him, the wind would go berserk and the two not wielding power of the wind would end up knocked over by the powerful gust. There would be absolutely no way in hell that Nate would be able to do such a feat like lifting them up to the window. "I don't have that much power."So she was right. But let’s not be too negative, Nemi quietly chided herself. It was then that the bird let out another battle cry. She was expecting the bird to dart towards them again, but instead, a huge storm of wind came crashing through the room followed by slamming of objects in the distance. The birds were squawking and chirping hysterically while the femme pretty much fell to the ground from the wind’s strength. A small part of her wanted to blame Nate for this because really, who else could use the wind in such a way? He didn’t have much control over it from her observations other than repressing it, but that was really about it. However, another side of her suggested that it was something else that caused the wind. When the zephyr finally calmed down, the birds went silent save for the falcon. It was crying out like a madman, flying around the room and flew out the door into the corridor. Wait, what? Her long black tendrils bounced up behind her as she sat up quickly. “The door’s open!” she cried out in amazement. It had been closed before that wind came passing through. Could it have been the wind that opened up the door? If it did, maybe it opened up some others too… she quietly mused as she stood up, cautiously making her way to the door. Peeking her head out of the door, Nemi looked in both up and down the hall. Everything looked pretty normal to her. However, the flapping of wings could be heard on the right side of the corridor. It was at that moment when she felt rumbling beneath her feet. It was almost like several very large trucks were passing by at once, causing the ground to shake. The femme’s pale hands gripped the frame of the door to prevent herself from falling over again until the shaking passed. Once it was completely gone, she walked right out in the hall and tentatively looked around. She could see the falcon not too far down the hallway circling in front of some sort of odd-looking room. After witnessing the bird’s viciousness, she really didn’t want to do anything with that bird, but something was calling out to her. And she was starting to get a headache much to her chagrin, causing her to bite down on her bottom lip to take her focus away from the headache. Just what I need right now… she groaned internally as Nemi turned away from the falcon’s direction towards the other end of the hall. Perhaps there was a way of getting out if they went the other way. It would be the smart move to get the hell out of the birdhouse before something else occurred. But the thought of the falcon and the odd room kept bothering her. With a heavy sigh, she briefly called out to the males. “I think the exits are open now! It would seem like a good idea to get out of here,” she began before she reluctantly started walking towards the falcon and the room it guarded. “But it seems there’s a weird room down the hall… And the falcon is just flying right in front of it. I think… I think it might be important.”With every step she took, the pain of her headache worsened. The femme clenched her hands while she spoke again. “And I’m not exactly sure about you two… But I think I’m going to take a closer look.” It didn’t matter to her at the moment if the males decided to join her or not. The only thing she knew was that she was getting a major headache and that room was calling out to her in some sort of way.[/style][style=width:346px; border-top:1px dotted #a0272d; font-family:terminal; font-size:10px; color:#69644f; background-color:#d9d6d6; letter-spacing: 1]CODED BY TSU DOLL OF LOVE STAMP.[/style]

Marcus was a little disappointed at the comment, he had certainly expected more from Nathaniel, though that might have been a bit biased on his part since he was basing his expectations from movies and anime. Though he was slightly impressed that the young male had given him such a vague answer, not giving him a definite level of his power and leaving Marcus open to speculate (which he very much did). The man knew how to play coy, which only made Marcus want to know even more, his curiosity reaching boiling. His desire to know the truth was like a thorn in his side now, no matter what he did or thought it was always there, constantly making him aware of its presence. He really needed answers NOW, or else it would drive him mad, he knew it would.
It was while he was in his thoughts that the sudden explosion of wind ripped through the area. The sound of objects slamming in the distance could be heard, with the birds’ hysterical chirping and squawking only compounding the noise. The detective himself got knocked over unexpectedly from the wind’s strength. He didn’t have that much power? Was he serious? He was certainly showing a lot of damn power right now. Still he didn’t think Nate was lying earlier and he seriously doubted that the purple-haired man would just do something that would contradict himself, especially since he was so cautious in front of Marcus.
When the wind finally calmed down Marcus quickly scanned the area again for their would-be attacker. Everything was quiet now, except for the falcon. Though this time it simply ignored them and flew off down through the door and into a corridor. Wait. Wasn’t all the doors closed before? It wasn’t until Nemi’s outburst that he confirmed his thoughts. So they were finally free. The wind, he still wasn’t so sure if it was Nate or not, had managed to force the doors open. With this he could finally escape this place and get the answers he was looking for, at least that was what he thought, fate had other plans for them.
He quietly dusted himself off as he stood up, observing the dark-haired female as she made her way to the doorway. Don’t think I’ll let you escape so eas…, his thoughts were cut off as the ground began trembling beneath them. It felt similar to an earthquake, though seemed localized and smaller than the usual. Marcus nearly fell over onto his face if his hands hadn’t blocked his fall, leaving him on all fours once it was finished. Seriously what was that now? Somebody can manipulate earth too?
”You guys okay?”, he asked out loud, he couldn’t have his witnesses injured after all. ”You can only control wind, right Nathaniel?”, he continued in a slight sarcastic but curious tone after he confirmed they were okay, glancing over at Nate as he stood up once again. He knew that they had to get out of the birdhouse as quickly as possible before something else happened and when Nemi confirmed where the exit was, a sense of relief washed over him as he made his way over to her. Though when he got to the doorway, he noticed she was going in the opposite direction from the exit. What is this woman doing? She better not think she can run from me…he thought, watching her closely from behind.
”But it seems there’s a weird room down the hall… And the falcon is just flying right in front of it. I think… I think it might be important. And I’m not exactly sure about you two… But I think I’m going to take a closer look.”
Seriously what is this woman thinking, heading even deeper into this place that was obviously dangerous. Not wanting her out of his sight, Marcus chased after her. He grabbed her arm and held her, though he made sure not to hurt her. ”Where do you think you going? You are still suspects involved with the China…”, he faded off, as he stared at her now. It seemed like she was in some pain, it showed on her face and her clenched hands gave her away. Still despite that she still wanted to go towards the room where the falcon circled. Why? What compelled her so go to such lengths? What is so important about that room? All these questions ran through his mind. He looked over to the room where the falcon was, then back at Nemi, repeating the action again, a slight sigh escaping him. He seriously was off his game today, and this woman, that looked fragile and in pain seriously made him lose his logic. Those colour shifting eyes of hers really pierced right through him. He realized they were actually the reason he followed her before, the card that fate showed him was her. Guess he would follow her again and see what fate showed him this time.
He released her arm as he turned towards the room, ”I’ll be taking the lead, since you are still my witnesses and I can’t have you running away or getting hurt now can we. ”he explained while he removed the pistol once again, this time he would use it against the bird if he had too, though he had a feeling he might need it for something else entirely. He removed the magazine and checked the bullets before placing the magazine into the pistol and loading a bullet into the chamber while he spoke again, “You’re coming with aren’t you, Mr Brandt?”, the sarcastic tone bleeding over his words, he knew very well Nate would follow, especially with the gun out.
He cautiously walked ahead of Nemi, hands clasped around the pistol while he watched the falcon’s movements closely, he didn’t know when it might assault them again. As he got into the room he carefully aimed up at the bird, ready to fire if he had to. He examined the room, noting the obvious staircase, though the closer he moved towards it he couldn’t help but get an ominous feeling from it. Like something was just waiting to happen. The expression, calm before the storm, came to mind. A few trickles of sweat now glistened on his forehead, something he found unusual. It was a new experience for him; he never felt feelings such as these before.
Feeling uneasy he looked back towards Nemi, wanting to make sure she was still okay, though in reality he just didn’t want to be alone, something his conscious mind would never even register. It was then that a faint glow caught his attention. Making sure the falcon held its position, he moved in for a closer examination. He didn’t recognize the language at all, though he had a feeling that he should. The glow was enticing; it beckoned him, like a moth to the flame. It caught him up completely and before he knew what he was doing he was reaching out towards it with his free hand, his fingers gently tracing the pattern on the runes. ”Nemi…what… is… this?”, he muttered, almost zombie like as he stared at the rune, his attention and curiosity hooked. [atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 475px; height: 707px; background: transparent, btable][atrb=style, background: url(http://i54.tinypic.com/2przh9u.jpg) top no-repeat ; width: 125px;] | The man eating falcon unleashed another shrill cry before a powerful gale blew through the building, causing hysteria amongst the other birds. There was the sound of something large slamming against a wall before the wind died down and everything was calm again. Needless to say, Nate was thoroughly confused. That couldn’t have been me, could it? He looked down his shirt and confirmed that the yellow rune on his chest was not glowing. That was definitely not me...
A jovial cry through the room made Nate look up. Was the door truly open? Were they finally free? It was true. The door through which they entered was ajar and he could see the faint outline of the bird flying through into the darkness of the corridor. But why and how? I’ll bet the wind did that, but what if it’s a trap? Apparently Nemi, his dark haired comrade, did not have the same idea because she immediately got up and went to inspect the door.
As she peeked her head through the door, Nate felt a large rumbling underneath his feet. The sensation reminded him of the earthquakes back in California, but New York? Earthquakes rarely ever happened in this part of the United States. Nate gripped the wall behind him for support. If it was indeed a tremor, they needed to find shelter. But the violent shaking ended as quickly as it had started. By the time Nate regained his bearings, Nemi was already gone, leaving him with the detective.
“You guys okay? You can only control wind, right Nathaniel?” There was something about the man’s tone that upset Nathaniel. There was a slight sarcastic lilt in his voice that he did not like. I can control wind but that’s more than I can say about you, was what he wanted to say in response. But the gun was still glinting in what little light they had and if it meant surviving and not being in agonizing pain, well then who the hell cares what the detective said about him? In the end he settled for glaring at the older male.
Not that it was noticed. The detective ran out of the room to chase the dark haired woman clearly not wanting to let either of them out of his sights. Nate followed. He would rather not be alone in a place like this and there was safety in numbers; a motto that he followed ever since the Chinatown incident.
Down the hallway, he caught sight of Detective Anderson grab Nemi’s arm and heard him call her a suspect from the Chinatown incident. He sighed and subsequently released her, clarifying that they were “witnesses” who he did not want hurt. But Nate could feel his anger at the Detective growing. Was that all they were to him, suspects from an incident? This situation was dangerous and there was a good chance that they were all going to die and all he cared about was closing a case?
Nate stood there and watched in silent rage as the cop pulled out his gun and insert a bullet into the chamber. “You’re coming with aren’t you, Mr. Brandt?” The sarcasm in his voice could clearly be heard now. Obviously Nate would follow and that fact only served to anger the young man more. This guy is definitely going to get it, whether it be from Karma, God, Fate, or whatever. If something attacks, I hope that he gets killed first. But Nate followed nonetheless, that gun really was a great negotiator.
The detective led the way into the next room. As the young photographer’s eyes adjusted to the changing light, he noticed the staircase in the middle of the room. A soft, glowing light illuminated the chamber, allowing him to see better but not by much. Nate entered the room and moved closer to Nemi, his only ally in this mess.
"Nemi... what... is... this?" Nate turned in the direction of the direction of the pompous detective and nearly fell over. There on the wall was a symbol similar to before during the Chinatown incident. If he remembered correctly he had seen two: one that he had stupidly touched and one on the door that a shadow was hiding behind. The detective was touvhing the symbol and nothing was happening, which could only mean one thing: that the shadow was back.
Nate's eyes darted quickly from the glowing symbol to pendant on Nemi's neck to Nemi's face. He needed to know if Nemi had come to the same conclusion as he had. But no matter what, they needed to leave, now. But the stupid, entranced detective still had that gun. Could he possibly talk him out of the situation?
"Detective Anderson, I think that it's in our best interest if we leave, now." That feeling of fear that he had felt so strongly during the incident in Chinatown had resurfaced. And it was not a comfortable feeling. ________________________

SOMETHING HAS BEEN TRIGGERED!
When Marcus places his hand upon the glowing rune and Nate finally joins the other two, the rune suddenly emits a powerful light for a moment before dissipating. It is then that the ground begins to groan once again only for the strange downward staircase to gain several more steps down to a hidden underground room. The walls in the little room the trio are currently in suddenly light up with multiple runes of some significance, pulsing with different colored lights. The falcon that was once circling the entrance of the little room lets out a cry as it darts towards the staircase, almost as if trying to point the trio to go down the steps.
The underground room seems to be more like a hall and is covered with various glowing runes. At the very end of this hall stands a podium with a large open book on it. The leather covering of the book is decorated with runes in the hall. Its pages appear to be blank, but there is something more to this book than meets the eye. It holds a hidden truth.

Oddly colored eyes immediately traveled to the offender while one of her eyebrows was slightly raised. She wasn’t used to having someone touch her without her permission first, so seeing that the detective had done so slightly threw her off. Why the hell was he holding her back? All she was going to do was going to check what the hell the rumbling and the falcon were all about. She just needed to satiate her stupid curiosity. “Where do you think you going? You are still suspects involved with the China…”Ah, so that was it. He wants to make sure I don’t try running away before he gets what he wants to know about China Town, she stated solemnly to herself. The pain from the headache was increasing, but she was trying to keep the pain at bay while she stood there staring at the dark-haired detective. “Trying” being the operative word seeing as how it was proving to be too damn difficult for her to ignore the pain like she usually did. What the hell was it about that hidden room that was causing her so much pain at this moment? “I’ll be taking the lead, since you are still my witnesses and I can’t have you running away or getting hurt now, can we? You’re coming with aren’t you, Mr Brandt?”Nemi felt like throwing something at the detective at the moment. He was treating her and Nate, her companion of sorts, like they were some damned objects that would make him strike gold. And she wasn’t exactly too keen on that sardonic tone that the detective was giving the young photographer; then again, she wasn’t too pleased with the looks Nate was giving the other male. What the hell was it with men and being indirectly aggressive towards one another? It was something she had never understood when she was growing up and she would definitely not understand it now. Men and their pride, she mused emotionlessly. Following behind Marcus like a duckling following its mother, the black-haired musician bit down harshly on her bottom lip and clenched her pale hands cruelly as the trio went along. It was as if something was trying to crush her skull from how badly the pain was coursing through her body. Hell, Nemi even felt like passing out already due to overwhelming pain, but she would push herself to keep going on. Who else was going to keep the guys from trying to kill each other? Besides, she didn’t feel like becoming a burden right now in case something happened, so she would suck it up for right now. When the trio made it past the falcon that seemed to be strangely calm and into the room, the femme’s vision slightly blurred. Ha, now I can’t even see straight… I wonder if this is truly what a hangover feels like, Nemesis joked internally. She barely noticed Nate drawing closer to her or that Marcus had wandered nearer to the strange stairs. However, Marcus did manage to obtain her slight attention at the mention of his question. Her hazy vision turned towards what Marcus was referring to, snapping her back into reality and making her eyes widen in the realization of what it was. A rune! Like the one on the door in China Town! Suddenly, she felt even more uneasy. What the hell did this mean? "Detective Anderson, I think that it's in our best interest if we leave, now." At the moment, Nemesis couldn’t agree more with Nate. But then the rune started glowing brighter and the ground began trembling again. Then evidently more runes began showing up on the walls. She recognized them, she knew she did. She wasn’t sure where, she wasn’t sure why, but she knew she the runes all too well and it was turning her headache into a major migraine. Balance was a thing of the past as her mind reeled in pain and confusion, throwing off her sense of stability and making her land on the ground. It didn’t come as much of a surprise to her that she fell to the floor from the pain. It didn’t even surprise her that the damned falcon outside of the room was now moving towards the stairs as if to point them in the right direction. This was suddenly becoming normal for her and she panicked even more. With the panic attack and the overwhelming pain washing over her, the ebony-maned girl’s vision began to fade to black as she fell into a forced slumber.[/style][style=width:346px; border-top:1px dotted #a0272d; font-family:terminal; font-size:10px; color:#69644f; background-color:#d9d6d6; letter-spacing: 1]CODED BY TSU DOLL OF LOVE STAMP.[/style]

This was what he was looking for. He could sense this was what he was missing. This was where he was meant to be. This was his fate, his destiny, he knew it to be so and he felt it with his entire being. So wrapped up with in his own delusions and kaleidoscope of everything happening around him he failed to hear the warnings of his other two companions.
Slowly he made his way closer to the staircase, closer to his destiny, that’s what he truly believed and nobody would convince him otherwise. Marcus watched as the falcon flew towards the stairs, it almost seemed as if it was showing them the way and Marcus would’ve followed if not for the sound of a body hitting the floor. Quickly spinning on his heels he saw Nemi passed out on the floor.
”Nemesis! Hey, you okay Nemesis?”, concern crept in his voice as he rushed over to her, the space between them vanishing in moments as he lifted her head up gently in his. Good she’s breathing at least. I think she just passed out from the pain., he breathed out in relief as he lifted his ear from her mouth. Damn this was all on me, Marcus thought. It was obvious she was in pain yet he just had to be so damn stubborn and curious. He should’ve just taken the both of them out of here before coming this far.
He once again looked back at the staircase, it was beckoning him. He needed to get down there. He wanted to go down there, but he couldn’t just leave this girl in her current condition. Whatever it was down that staircase, that was the source of her pain and she needed to get far away from it, but he couldn’t just leave here right? Not without at least going in once. It shouldn’t take too long, just in and out. Back before you know it. No! This girl’s health came first; it was his duty as a police officer, as a fellow human. What? When has he ever thought like that before? It was always about him, his needs, his wants, and his curiosity. When has he ever considered anyone else before himself? His mind was racing with a hundred thoughts and he just couldn’t clear his head at all, but a decision had to be made and it had to be made now.
With his mind made up he scooped up the black-haired women in his arms, making his way away from the staircase and up to Nathaniel, ”She needs medical attention. Take her outside as quickly as you can and call for an ambulance.” He carefully placed her in Nathaniel’s arms before continuing, ”Call 911 and use my name and badge number. That should hurry them up a bit.”. He removed his detective badge and placed it his Nemesis’ hands, closing them around it before turning around towards the staircase. ”Guess I’ll let you go this time.”, he said, giving Nate a whimsical grin before heading down the staircase.
Even as he walked down the staircase, his heart was racing. It seemed like it would explode right out of his chest, his grip on his pistol tightening as he got to the hall. He saw it, the object of his curiosity siting on the far end of the room. Not wasting any time he immediately walked up to it. The pages were blank. Talk about anticlimactic, but Marcus examined it anyway. The runes on the leather cover were definitely the same like the ones above, yet he still could not decipher them. Picking up the book he began turning the pages, hoping to find something, anything to sate these feelings of his.

SOMETHING HAS BEEN TRIGGERED (AGAIN)!
As Marcus picks up the strange book, the entire bird house begins to rumble violently, making it impossible to escape down the hall to an exit. The flooring splits apart several feet, leaving the trio stranded in a part of the birdhouse with no exit in sight. Aside from that, a loud mass of squawking echoes through the halls as a large number of birds make their way over to the hidden underground room, none of which seem too happy. If anything, they seem to be in a crazed stupor and their target seems to be Marcus.
Posting resumes with Nate then Marcus seeing as Nemi is out of commission for one round due to pain.

Nate had expected another shadow or some sort of dark entity to appear and kill them all, but instead, the walls of the room suddenly lit up with even more runes. The ground shook again as the staircase that led into the ground was extended. With a sharp cry, the falcon that was circling above them flew into the staircase as if guiding them downward.
Nate was stunned at the large amount of glowing runes that surrounded them. All of them seemed familiar and yet they were so foreign. He was so distracted that he did not notice Nemi faint until he heard a large thud when she hit the ground.
Nemi? Nemi?! Nate snapped out of his trance and made a move to help the woman but the detective reached her first. Detective Anderson shouted her name but Nemi gave no response. Nate stopped and watched the detective hold his ear up to her face.
“Good, she’s still breathing at least. I think that she’s just passed out from the pain.”
Pain? Nemi was in pain? Then it dawned on Nate. While he was too busy glaring at the cop, he had not noticed that Nemi was clutching her head. No, correction: he had noticed. He just felt that his anger towards Anderson was more important. Guilt washed over Nate as he viewed the detective pick up the dark haired woman. He was so busy criticizing the detective for not caring for them as humans when he himself was no better.
The detective walked over to Nate with Nemi in his arms. As he gently placed the woman in the photographer’s arms, he instructed him on what he needed to do. Such as bringing her to a hospital and using his badge to get them in. He nodded in response though he disagreed with everything the detective was saying. Like hell I will, thought Nate. Bringing her to a hospital with her eyes? That will just cause more problems. And if we invoke your name then there is probably some way for you to track us down.
“Guess I’ll let you go this time.”
That surprised Nate to say the least. The man was actually going to let them go? Perhaps he did view them as humans after all. With one last look at the man as he disappeared down the stairs, he turned around and prepared to bring the two of them out of the blasted room.
He was so close to the exit, a few more steps and he would have been out of the room. But it was for the best that he had not made it. As he neared the door, the ground began to rumble again causing Nate to nearly lose his balance. It was a good thing that he did not because he still had the woman in his arms. He was very close to hysteria again. He had a chance to get out and now it had been ruined. Why, cruel fate? Why?!
A loud squawking noise and the sound of wings could be heard down the hall. The young man squinted into the darkness only to see a large flock of birds flying towards the room. The worst part? At the forefront of the birds was the blue and white bird that he had so unkindly picked on. That bird wants revenge, no doubt! There was no shelter in the room so Nate bolted down the stairs. As he neared the last step, he saw the detective at the end of the hallway glowing hallway inspecting something on a pedestal.
"Detective! We have a serious problem." Nate ran towards the detective until he reached the end of the corridor. As he reached the detective, the sound of wings could be heard very clearly now. Nate backed up against the back wall. Like the birds from that movie, they were coming after them. ________________________

Marcus thought as he continued to page through the book rapidly. Nothing…there was nothing here. It was completely empty, unless there was something there and the detective couldn’t see it. Frustration began creeping in as he examined the cover this time, looking over the runes scattered all across it. He definitely recognized the runes as the same ones that were in the room above but he couldn’t make heads or tails of it at all.
Just when his frustration began reaching its peak, his attention was snapped back to reality as the ground began rumbling. The shaking nearly knocked him over but quick reflexes prevailed as he held on to the pedestal. It was then that Marcus heard a familiar voice.
”Detective! We have a serious problem.”
Marcus stared at Nate, running towards him with Nemi in his arms, a stunned expression clearly visible on his face. ”What are you doing back here Nathaniel?”, he questioned. A concerned look being shot at Nemi as she lay motionless in his arms. ”I thought I told you to take her ou…”, he was cut off when the sound of birds squawking and wings beating came into the chamber from up the staircase and it sounded like a lot of them. So this was the problem?, he thought.
Seems like the birds were once again on their trail and this time it wasn’t just the falcon but his buddies too. Marcus’ eyes immediately shoot upwards, scanning for the falcon and its position but it seemed like it remained calm for now, gratefully. Even as the sounds travelled closer, Marcus’ mind began racing. They needed a way out and quick. ”You think you can keep them away while I search for an exit?” his question directed towards Nathaniel. He had seen the man’s ability before and could only hope it would work this time as well, especially with the sheer number of them coming. He removed his coat, wrapping the book with it before laying it down on the ground. ”Lay her down here.”, he directed, his makeshift pillow complete behind the pedestal. Nemi was currently helpless and they were the only defence between her and the birds. Removing both pistols now - dual wielding - he began his search, swiftly moving along the walls of the room. He didn’t get very far when the first vanguard of birds came into the room and they came directly for him.
Three shots echoed in the air, with the thud of three dead birds hitting the ground following. Marcus was quite a good shot, having been the best in the academy, however the number of targets this time was too great and he would run out of ammo eventually. Four more shoots rang in the air as four bodies dropped to the ground. Marcus himself was now moving backwards towards his companions, guns still ringing shots in the air as he got near to the others.
If only he could read what was in that book, if only his eyes could see what was there. Wait! Eyes! Like a bolt of lightning it hit him. The eyes, it was always about the eyes. Even if his couldn’t see, hers probably could. He remembered Nemi’s eyes, those soft glowing orbs that radiated different colours randomly. He was so preoccupied with Nate’s abilities that he forgot about her. She was different as well…she was special. ”Keep them busy Nathaniel! I think I found something!”, he shouted over the ruckus, as he made his way quickly over to Nemi. Nemesis…Nemesis, please wake up. You need to wake up quickly please! We need your help., even as he pleaded he gently shook her, hoping to arouse her from her unconsciousness. She was the key to all this, at least he hoped so or else they might not survive this at all. As dead birds spiraled to the ground, a trio of fearsome ravens slipped into the room and let out raspy squawks. To the common person, it was almost as if they were angry judging by the fact that they had seemingly red eyes. While the other birds quickly began heading towards the human trio, the raven triplets flew around the room. It almost seemed like they were searching for something. For what, 'tis a secret. Regardless of that, these birds seemed all but friendly as they circle around the room.
On the human side, as Marcus tries to shake awake Nemesis, the girl is pulled out of her little fainting spell. It is then that several of the angry birds dart towards the young male photographer. The runes decorating all the walls of the hidden underground room start to glow, creating an impenetrable shield around Nate against the fowls. They peck, claw and ram against the safeguard, but they cannot get through at all. Once the winged creatures finally realize that they will not be able to get to him, the malicious birds dash towards the detective and the musician. Ah, and it seems that the mysterious ravens have decided to join the hoard of birds in attacking the two humans.
Posting order shall resume with Nemesis followed by Nate.

You need to wake up quickly please! We need your help.”Who… who was calling her? She knew could recognize that voice somewhat, but the name escaped her. And why the hell was everything so dark right now? She couldn’t see a single thing right now, but she could hear everything. On top of that, there was such a skull-shattering throbbing occurring in her head; it was almost as if someone had mercilessly hit her over the head repeatedly with a blunt object. It pained her to even think at the moment, but hearing the urgency of the familiar male voice, she knew something was wrong. What was wrong, however, was completely beyond her. A few seconds passed when it occurred to her that she was on the floor with something supporting her head. Pushing herself to think and try to remember, she realized that her eyes were closed and that she had passed out in that weird room with the stairs and the symbols. A bolt of pain coursed through her as the dark-haired female opened her odd-colored eyes slowly. It goes without saying how surprising it was for her to see such foreign yet familiar surroundings were as her eyes took everything in. Where exactly was she and why did it seem so vaguely familiar? As she looked around more around herself, Nemesis’ eyes landed on the dark-haired male next to her. It was… the detective who caught her and the purple-haired male named Nate. Wasn’t his name Marcus or something like that? She was sure that was it, so she tilted her head curiously at him while she gradually sat up from her position on the ground. He looked panicked, but why? “What… what happened?” she quietly whispered to the man close to her, only for her question to be drowned out by loud raspy squawking. Dark locks twirled around the femme as she turned to the source, seeing three large black birds flying around. It wasn’t just the three though; there were a hell of a lot of birds in the room. But there was something odd about the three ravens; she just couldn’t pinpoint what it was. The pain the girl was feeling faded into a dull pulse as she slowly felt herself become numb. Nemi was all but complaining about the pain going away (sort of); anything to be able to move and think without feeling so much damned pain. Quickly, she stood up from behind the pedestal and stared at the birds overhead. They all seemed so mad. Maybe we’re not supposed to be here, the logical side of her suggested. The strange-eyed woman couldn’t help but agree with the suggestion as she caught Nate from the very corner of her eyes. So he was still with them too. The thought put her at ease a bit while a ghost of a smile danced across her face. Ah, but it only stayed there for a moment due to the horrible sight that followed. Nearly all the birds had darted towards the young photographer and Nemesis couldn’t help but stare wide-eyed, shouting loudly towards the male to warn him in some way to move. “Nate!” It was then that all the peculiar runes in the room started glowing and she saw the birds slam up against something as they neared the photographer. It was so odd. It was as if there was a barrier around him and the birds couldn’t get to him at all. The thought that they weren’t going to be able to hurt her companion of sorts made her sigh out of relief. At least he was safe. She couldn’t say the same thing for her or Marcus as the birds suddenly turned their attention to the two of them. Moving as far back as she possibly could from the birds, Nemi’s eyes caught the three anomalous ravens joining the large group of fowl. “What the hell is going on here?” she said aloud, not caring if Marcus or Nate heard her or not. Then the birds darted towards Marcus and her. “Marcus, watch out!” She didn’t know why, but her initial thought was to hit the floor to avoid getting hit. However, she somehow decided to tackle Marcus to the ground instead so the two of them would be saved from getting attacked by the malicious birds. How the hell did we get stuck here? she wondered as she kept her eyes on the ravens. She had a very horrible feeling about those damned birds.[/style][style=width:346px; border-top:1px dotted #a0272d; font-family:terminal; font-size:10px; color:#69644f; background-color:#d9d6d6; letter-spacing: 1]CODED BY TSU DOLL OF LOVE STAMP.[/style]

He watched in horror as a hundred angry birds flooded the room. The detective had told him to keep them distracted but how? Wind was a good option but that would also affect the other two with him and would be counterproductive. He decided not to release his control. At least the birds have not attacked...yet.
The little white bird that he had previously agrieved was lost somewhere in the mix of feathers. Instead, its position at the front of the flock had been replaced by three black birds with red eyes. Nate knew next to nothing about birds but he was relatively sure that crows did not have red eyes. But that information would be of no use to them at the moment. Instead he decided to concentrate his energy on Nemi who Detective Anderson was trying to wake up.
Nate breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the dark haired girl open her eyes and stand up. He almost felt like smiling back at Nemi when he saw her smile at him, but he really should have been paying more attention to the birds. Nate watched in confusion as Nemi's facial expression turned from one of calm to one of horror. She was looking at something behind him. Nate turned around only to see a large number of birds flying at high speeds towards him. It occured to him that the birds had most likely bided their time and waited for him to be distracted before attacking. It was an opurtune if not cowardly strategy..
Cowardly or not, the strategy worked. Nate, having been completely caught off guard relinquiched his control over the wind, but even that probably would not save him this time. He had released it too slowly and the feathered fiends would be on him in an instant. On reflex he closed his eyes and held his arms up to defend himself from the onslaught. Only it never came.
The youngest of the three humans opened his eyes slowly and was surprised to see birds bouncing off an invible force field of some sort. At first he thought that perhaps Nemi had done it. but then he noticed the runes on the wall were glowing brighter than ever. It was protecting him from the birds. Nate did not question why. He was just glad to be alive and unharmed.
He watched the birds regroup and prepare for another attack. Stupid creatures you cannot harm me. He then watched the ravens join the birds and start flying toward his two companions. Okay, I take that back. You're not stupid. Not stupid!
"Marcus, watch out!" shouted Nemi as she tackled the detective to the ground. But the birds were coming and unlike Nate they did not seem to be protected by the runes surrounding them. Nate did the only thing that he could do. He jumped in front of them and released his control. He just hoped that the force field would protect all three of them. If not, then the wind would disorient them at least. And if all that failed then they were all dead.
