She wasn't sure what she believed anymore as she watched trucks leaving the parking lot; workers going home after hard days at work. She would be left alone with the metal structure once more. There seemed to still be dents and damage from the eventful night two weeks ago, she couldn't really explain what happened exactly but she could say she would never forget.
She bundled up her slim black sweater around her, it was pretty cold where she was standing as it was clear the cold was natural for once. Autumn was quickly approaching New York and it's effects were clear as Katie was feeling rather cold in her black sweater and her rather faded jeans. She couldn't help but gawk at the obvious effects of some monster on the construction site, she doubted that the building would ever get done at the rate the workers were going but at the same time who was she to argue with some workers getting paid by the hour. Katie's hands instinctively started to move toward the purple rune that rested in the middle of her left palm.
As her fingers grazed over the mark she could physically feel her mind clear of her useless thoughts. She knew something was wrong not only with her but with the future, she could almost taste it on her tongue. Normally she would blame something else for the knot in her stomach but she couldn't lie to herself, she knew the future was going to be weird and hard. She couldn't describe how she knew or what she even knew but she just had the gut feeling. She let her fingers trace the interconnected swirls of lines that made up the purple rune. She had no idea what it was but she did know it meant something. Katie sighed softly before letting her hands fall limply to her sides.
As if someone placed a veil of mist over her mind she was once again submerged into her own thoughts; confusion of what is happening to her, fear as she had almost died two weeks ago, her mind flicked between these thoughts and these emotions. She knew her fingers were craving the indulgence of clarity the mark brought but she couldn't abuse it. She couldn't bring herself to actually do it no matter how badly she wanted to. Katie blinked a couple times sensing that someone was nearing. It wasn't any spidey sense or even her normal sense that recognized she had company-she just knew. She shivered slightly, she knew this time it wasn't because of the crisp air.

Then he mentally cursed himself for getting on the wrong bus. His original intention was to go see the tournament that the New York City Kendo Club was hosting. Lo and behold, he ended up on the wrong bus at the wrong time. Now, not only did he miss the Kendo tournament he was required to see, he was in the middle an area that he did not recognize. His only comfort was his digital SLR camera which he had brought out with him today.
He looked up at the gray sky as the wind ruffled his hair. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see paper and rubbish being blown by the wind. There was no one around him at the moment and so he was able to relax a bit. Day by day, he had to control his emotions in order to prevent his secret from getting out. Nate liked to think that he was getting better at controlling the wind and his emotions. Unfortunately, he could not be sure. It was not like there was anyone he could compare his control level to. At the present moment he knew of no one else that shared his predicament. Sure, Nemi was also seeing visions but she did not need to have so much self control over something that was constantly surrounding her.
Nate jumped when a part he saw people coming out of the construction site. Thankfully, they were too far away to feel the breeze emanating from him. The construction workers were exiting the lot and going home. Nate wished that he could go home too. He would ask for directions but the last time he tried that, stuff happened; stuff that led the infernal wind to surround him and give him problems.
Although, thought Nate, this situation might not be all bad… A construction site while dangerous has some of the most interesting textures and patterns. When all the workers were out of site, Nate snuck into the lot. The farther in he walked, the more peculiar he found the place to be. In odd places he noticed dents in the metal as if something had hit it. But what could possibly hit something steel with enough force to dent it? Nate quickly dispelled the thought. At this point he honestly did not care to know. It would most likely bring him nothing but trouble.
And then, he noticed a lone figure standing in the middle of the lot. From what he could tell, it was a girl. Nate was relatively sure he did not know this girl since none of the women he has encountered in New York have had purple hair. But now the question was whether or not to approach said woman. Nate opted not to. He was not supposed to be here anyways and he was not sure the female would appreciate being disturbed.
Nate turned the other way and tried to leave quietly without alerting the other person to his presence. Tried, being the definite word. Nate turned to walk away when he stepped in something loud and metal. He looked down to see a pile of empty beer cans at his feet. What the hell are our tax dollars being used for?
But that should be the least of his problems. The sound could be heard from a good distance away. Nate turned back around to see if the girl had noticed him. He hoped that nothing bad would happen. He did not want to be arrested for trespassing, or worse running into more supernatural beings. ________________________

It had actually started off pretty good in his opinion. The lovely but brutal mother of his children Shin’ya had only managed to hit him with one shoe today after she found him sleeping next to her; Nachi had slept over after taking the twins off the woman’s hands for a bit. He actually got a kick out of the fact that Shin’ya went so far to chase him out her apartment with a shoe in hand and a pissed off look on her face. Needless to say that he left for his family’s house to get a new change of clothes to save himself from getting hit.
After a few minutes of driving, he had gotten to his house and set off to prepare for the day. However, one glance at the calendar made him pale in complete and utter shock. Today was the day for the Kendo Tournament! Silver eyes wide, the slight twitching occurring around his left eye was almost comical as he stood there staring at the calendar. He was supposed to be a part of the competition today since his brothers (or more like brother and wannabe brother) weren’t going to be a part of it this year. This year was his chance to shine and for once make it to the final match instead of having to stand on the sidelines and cheer on his brothers. It would finally be his moment. But damn it, he was late. Way too damn late to even go over to the NYC Kendo Club and sign in. If anything, the second round of matches were probably happening just as he was standing there; he’d just be on the sidelines watching others.
A sighing groan escaped his lips as he slightly frowned, silver eyes blazing with mild contempt as he stared at the calendar, only to turn around and walk out of his room. He knew it wasn’t the calendar’s fault that he missed the sign-in times (though he very much would like to think it was), so he would just forget about it for the year. And in hopes of forgetting the fact that he missed sign-ins for the tournament, he headed straight for the kitchen to find his immediate source of subtle comfort: the liquid poison known as alcohol. He needed something to relax him (or busy himself with) so the very first things that came to mind were alcohol and sex. Though, he would have to have lots of the latter to completely forget the matter.
Internally, Nachi could hear a small voice at the back of his head that was criticizing him for his vulgar and utterly immoral thought process. It spoke of how it would completely shame his beloved mother and really, he knew this to be completely true; he had hated Mamoru when he was younger for how he treated Tsukiko. But another thought reared its head out as he tried to justify his actions: a wonderful person like Tsukiko had stayed with a horrible bastard like his father so she wouldn’t be too ashamed would she? And someone was bound to stay with him if he was just as horrible like how his mother stayed with his father.
How could she not be ashamed? She was always embarrassed when father decided to bring his whores around here and we had company. Hell, I was even ashamed of father, he reminded himself. But despite his morality (and slight guilt) kicking in, the silver-eyed male still mixed himself a drink. Quickly after creating his medley of liquors, he gulped it down and headed outside for some air. Actually, he felt like taking a drive right now and any morally sane person wouldn’t take a drive after drinking so much alcohol, but after years of drinking different alcohols, it barely affected the dark-haired male anymore.
Walking ever so aimlessly in the city, Nachi went along with an aloof air around him. He would occasionally glance at a pretty girl passing by or would get a few winks and blushes from different girls, but he didn’t feel like jumping at them for the moment. It was almost as if he felt compelled to behave himself for once as he went along. It was absolutely odd and if anyone who actually knew him saw that he was acting this way, they would probably be frozen with utter disbelief. They’d probably even say that the earth was probably going to end that very second just because of how behaved he was being for the moment, but in all honesty, he just felt too lazy (and sort of down) to hit on any girls right now. Perhaps later would be better.
After what seemed like hours, the youngest Shirokane male finally realized how chilly it was outside. His hands were as cold as death now that he actually thought about it. Silver pupils scanned the surroundings momentarily as Nachi shoved his cold hands into his pants’ pockets. He was way far away from home judging by the lack of buildings and abundance of metal frames. Oh, so I made it all the way to East End, he told himself mentally as he watched some trucks drive away from one particular metal structure. From his vantage point, the metal beams seemed sort of out of shape, as if something had wrecked them terribly. Perhaps overexposure to the elements?
Curiosity bubbling up in him as well as boredom, he briskly walked towards the structure with a slight grin on his face. He had nothing better to do in the area, so maybe he could go exploring despite the fact that it was a construction site. So what if the place was dangerous? Safety be damned if he could have a little fun in this end of the city of all places.
When he got closer, the older male looked around the place with curiosity. The metal beams had some random dents in them, almost as if something hit them with enough force. “I wonder what happened around here…” he thought out aloud as he stared at the beams, only to have his attention to be caught by a figure standing a bit a ways off. It was a girl from what he could see and it was then that he felt his flirtatious nature return to him. With a mischievous grin on his face, he was about to make his way over to her and chat when a metal clatter occurred.
Turning on his heel, Nachi quirked his head to the side while he looked for the cause of the sudden noise. It was a man and it looked like it was… “Nori!” Nachi bellowed as he made a quick dash for his “brother.” Although it was extremely odd to see his brother in such a place, the younger Shirokane didn’t care. He finally had someone to bug and have fun with right now! Not even caring if the male had heard him, Nachi tackle-hugged the man from the back, wrapping his arms in a tight hug around the male and rubbing their creeks together. “D’awe, it’s so nice to see, Nori~!” he chirped happily with a smile plastered on his face.
It was then he noticed that “Nori” was carrying a camera, so being the mischievous bastard that only he can be, Nachi let go of the male and grabbed hold of the camera. “Ne, what’s with this camera, Nii-chan?” he questioned with a raised eyebrow, only for his face to turn up in amusement. “What? Did Kura save some dirty pictures of herself for you on this camera?” he mused while he slowly began going through the saved data. Knowing how his brother and Kura were, Nachi knew that such a thing would never occur, but he just wanted to mess with his brother. However, something seemed… off about “Nori” in Nachi’s opinion. He looked a little different. “Hey Nori… how did your hair grow longer so fast?”[/style] | [atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, padding-left: 15px,bTable][STYLE=border: 4px solid #222222; width: 100px; height: 100px; float:bottom][/style][STYLE=font-family: georgia; font-size: 27px; color:#222222; letter-spacing: -4px; line-height: 22px; float: top;]I'm known for taking what I think I deserve[/style] |

The turn of event drastically turned her viewpoint on life around, as near death experiences tend to do that to people. But this near death experience, it was unnatural. No, not even that. It was impossible. Now that she thought of it completely, and rationally, she must have been hallucinating. Yes, everything that happened exhibited this. There were no ice monsters set on killing her - ice monsters don't exist. Hell, monsters don't exist! She must have been insane... she must have! She couldn't save someone with magic healing powers, she couldn't have just witnessed that event. But... there was some faulty reasoning behind this. There was evidence this happened - and she couldn't just ignore it. One, for the fact that if she did ignore it, people would start asking questions. And if they started asking questions - who knew what kind of trouble she could be in? She didn't want her peers thinking she was some lunatic or something, brandishing some stupid mark on her hand. It was a pain to write with, too. Her right hand bore that ridiculous mark. Trust me, she had tried washing it off, every tactic she could think of to take it off her palm. But nothing worked. It was official - something weird was happening and somehow she had the worst luck and got tangled in it.
But there was a nagging feeling in her, pulling at her heart and making her think that she was missing something. Due to curiosity, she let herself contemplate on the matter. What else could she do, anyways? Surprisingly, she had nothing to do. Her boss had been gracious to her and let her take the day off - a freebie. Something invited and welcomed, in which she seized the chance as soon as he had mentioned it. But left with nothing to do, not even sleep, she decided the worst possible thing to do. Revisit the place of her hauntings. She used the word hauntings very lightly, seeing as she didn't get scared every time she thought of it. Although, it was somehow haunting her mind - the supernatural being and the rune on her palm. After all, every time she looked at her palm she was reminded of the incident, even when she didn't want to be. So Joze had picked up the habit of wearing gloves. Sure, it was a pain to write with sometimes, and whenever the weather was slightly hot she could feel her palms sweating, but what other alternative was there? Sure, there was that subconscious pulling of the sleeve to hide her palm, but it was unreliable as her grip could potentially slip and she'd be in trouble if someone had chanced a glance at it, no matter how quick she would be able to regain her grip. So gloves it was. It would make more sense in the winter. Sure, some people have asked, and she told the obvious lie of how her hands were often cold and she wanted to do something about it. They seemed to have taken and hint and dropped the subject, but there were always those annoying persistent people, the ones that she didn't really know but chose to butt into other peoples' businesses anyway?
However as a week passed by the questions stopped, the murmurings diminished, and she was able to go on normally as a wallflower at Elm Brook High again. Another week passed and everyone was now used to her wearing gloves. Of course, being the weekend right now, she took the chance to take off her gloves, as they were getting annoying, wearing them all the time, even in the presence of her family. It was nice to finally feel the air prickle the skin on her hands, if only for a select amount of time. It was refreshing, almost. Besides, if someone were to come, she could always pull the sleeves down. It could work - it was pretty cold and she was sure she could manage hiding her hands in a not too conspicuous manner. Though she shouldn't have bothered - the likelihood that the construction site would be swarmed with people was unlikely. All in all - it would probably be deserted. It was just her unreasonable need to revisit the scene. It wouldn't be late at night this time, so there was no need to get scared. Not like, Joze was scared before. Right?
She took a couple more timid steps to the construction site. Hesitant. Joze wasn't sure what she was going to do when she got there? Look around and then leave? That would be unproductive. Not to mention a complete waste of time walking there. Maybe it was closure - but closure from what? Honestly, maybe this was a complete waste of time and she should just turn back now before she made any bad decisions and regret her actions. But she's made it this far, right? Why not just visit the area and leave it at that?
In the light, it wasn't a cold and menacing as it was weeks before. But a thump of fear pounded her chest. People... Should she turn back? No, that couldn't do much good for her. Maybe if she made her escape they would never notice her. Not at all. The battered construction site (this made her more nervous because it was proof of what went down before), scared her. She wanted to back away, like a scared dog. But no, she was here now, for some unreasonable and not understandable reason. Why turn back after her long trek? |

Katie looked at the man who had made such a large sound, it appeared that it was due to him stepping on a bunch of empty beer cans. She couldn't help but smirk slightly as she noted he was trying to make a getaway unnoticed. She smiled at him as he slowly turned to face her. Katie couldn't help but give him a small wave. It was only when she glanced at her hand did she notice it was her hand with the weird tattoo on it. She cursed slightly before quickly crossing her arms to hide it.
She couldn't help but start to get a stomach ache for being an idiot. For all she knew he could be an ice monster in disguise, and she is just flaunting the fact she is a freak. Katie took a shaky step forward but paused when she noticed some other man come out of pretty much nowhere and start talking to him. Katie couldn't really hear what words were exchanged between the two but she was relatively sure they weren't pg by the perverted smile on the other man's mouth. Katie analyzed her choices rather quickly as she tried to choose whether she should go up to them an try to act friendly.
After a couple of moments of trying to choose she decided it was best to probably try and sneak away just as one of the men had tried to do. She didn't want to interrupt anything, so she slowly started to turn away from the metal structure which is when she saw Joze. She could have sworn if she was in a movie they would show a flashback as the mental image of the girls palm glowing bright blue kept replaying in her head. She glanced down at her leg which was now better than fine thanks to the girl who was now a little ways off.
Katie still wanted to dip but couldn't help but want to talk to the blonde girl who looked like a child. It was the least she could do after she had saved her life, the freaks had to stay together anyway, so she might as well try and be friendly. She hadn't seen her since the night of the ice monster but she felt like the series of events had only been yesterday. Katie slowly started to walk towards the girl but didn't want to say anything as the other people visiting the construction site were within eyesight. She wondered why they wee there anyway but decided instead to ignore them until they decided to acknowledge her presence of leave. She wasn't one to make the first move.
Katie gave Joze a small wave as she had done with the mystery man. This time she was sure it was the hand without the weird tattoo on it, at least she was learning from her mistakes, at the same time she was slowly starting to doubt it. She had this gut feeling that something weird was going to happen anytime now. Why would she come back to the scene of a freak event anyway? Apparently she hadn't learned from her mistakes as the feeling was starting to get stronger as more time passed. She figured it was some kind of gut feeling but she couldn't be sure. What he did not expect was that she smiled at him and even waved. He was at ease knowing that the person was not going to report or harm him. He raised his hand slightly to wave at the woman but she quickly withdrew her hand and turned away. Strange, but not really a cause for concern. She was waving to a stranger after all, he would not feel hurt by this. Nate checked the time on his camera. It was about time for the next bus to come.
He was about to move when the sound of someone screaming "Nori" rang in his ears. From the few Japanese phrases he learned from his friends in Kendo, nori meant seaweed. Odd thing to be screaming in the middle of a lot thought Nate as he rubbed his ears. And as if the screaming weren't enough, a moment later he was almost tackled to the ground. The only reason he was not eating dirt was because someone, a man most likely judging by the physique, wrapped Nate tightly in his arms. "What the f-"
Nate turned to see the other male that was currently threatening to kill him using suffocation. It proved to be difficult however when the other person started rubbing their cheeks together. "D'awe, it's so nice to see Nori," cooed the man. Too stunned to do anything, Nate allowed the him to continue his discombobulating display of affection. Although, the attention was not that uncomfortable considering how the hugging helped warm him up in the freezing weather. But this man was looking for someone named "Nori" and it was probably best to let the stranger know that he was not this Nori person. I'm not No-"
But Nate was cut off when the starnegr let go of him and grabbed his camera out of his hands. "Ne, what's with this camera, nii-chan?" Nate stared, eyes wide and mouth slightly agape at his camera. His camera: the expensive camera that he had saved years for, the camera that still had some very good pictures saved on it, his only camera, the camera that was now in the hands of some stranger. And for all he knew, the stranger was some lunatic that had no qualms about dropping his precious object. The wind was growing again.
“What? Did Kura save some dirty pictures of herself for you on this camera? Hey Nori… how did your hair grow longer so fast?” asked the lunatic who seemed not to have noticed the expression of horror. on his face. Nate shook his head to snap himself out of his shock and regain control of his emotions. Then he grabbed his camera from the man's hands. Nate quickly stowed his camera back into his camera bag before turning back to the idiot.
He was angry. This camera was his life. Without this camera, he would have nothing, no money, no future, no identity. He barely allowed his parents or sister to touch his camera let alone some stranger. His anger was making the control over the wind difficult but who cared? This maniac had touched his camera and Nate wanted to give him a piece of his mind.
"Are you insane?!" he shouted. Do you not know what you could have done? That was my camera, practically my life and you have the audacity to touch it?" Nate stopped for a breath before continuing. "Hasn't anyone told you to keep your hands to yourself? I'm not this seaweed or Nori guy whoever he is, I do not know a Kura, and I certainly don't have dirty pictures on my camera!" Nate fumed. He could not remember the last time he shouted like this although it did help to dispel some of his anger.
Nate put his face in his hands. I could be at a kendo tournament right now, instead of here. I wish I had gotten on the correct bus," Nate muttered to himself. ________________________

The pictures within in the camera were all odd to say in the least; since when the hell did Nori take an interest in taking pictures of inanimate objects at random times of the day at random angles? Hell, when did Nori start liking photography anyways? As far Nachi’s knowledge of his brother went, Nori really wasn’t one for taking photos of himself or anyone for that matter. And if he remembered correctly, it was pretty damn rare to even get a picture of his relatively stoic brother. It was truly odd indeed to find Nori with a camera. And suddenly, the camera was out of his grasps. What the…?
"Are you insane?!"
This sudden outburst was definitely enough to make Nachi look up and raise an eyebrow. What exactly was Nori calling him insane for? It’s not that he wasn’t used to insults of any sort; he received daily from Shin’ya and would occasionally get them from Nori and Kura. He usually deserved a few insults here and there, but he usually only obtained them after he had done something wrong. As far as the silver-eyed male knew, he hadn’t done anything wrong yet to his brother other than what he usually did whenever they saw each other.
“Do you not know what you could have done? That was my camera; practically my life and you have the audacity to touch it? Hasn’t anyone told you to keep your hands to yourself? I'm not this seaweed or Nori guy whoever he is, I do not know a Kura, and I certainly don't have dirty pictures on my camera!"
Nachi stood there for a moment, his brows slightly furrowed as he stared at his “brother.” He was acting stranger than usual aside from looking a bit weird. Had he caught his brother on a really bad day or something? Maybe he’s just really cranky without Kura being here… He’s probably not getting any from anyone else. Poor brother, he mused internally while a smile rose on his face again. His brother could be really silly when he wanted to be, he supposed.
“I could be at a kendo tournament right now, instead of here. I wish I had gotten on the correct bus."
Yup, this was definitely his brother. Because seriously, who else would want to be at the kendo tournament other than him and Fuu? It made Nachi feel better that even Nori missed the tournament and it wasn’t just him. But regardless of that, it made him feel great that his brother was with him right now. Odd as it may be that it was to find his brother in a random construction site, but what did that matter?! He had someone to bug even if it was for a little while. It would be like when they were much younger. “Ne, I suppose you’re awful cranky without Kura here, eh Nori?” Nachi asked in a mischievous tone while he swayed to and fro. “I bet you’re not looking for any other ‘source of relief’ right? Poor Nori~! You almost fooled me into thinking you were someone else completely different.”
Stretching out his arms a bit, a chuckle escaped the taller male’s lips as a blonde-haired girl his attention from the corner of his eyes. She looked like a little girl, but she was awfully cute from what he could see. And it seemed that the girl from earlier was walking over to the little blonde one. She was pretty cute too now that he had a better view of her. Maybe they can help Nori blow off some steam. I’m sure they’d like to have some fun, he thought naughtily with a twinkle in his eye. He himself had wanted some “fun” earlier, so they could kill two birds with one stone.
“Hey Nori, how about we go talk to those cute girls over there? Maybe they’ll want some fun,” he suggested with a fiendish grin while he started to tug at “Nori’s” arm to follow him. “And who knows? Maybe you’ll get over Kura and go with one of them instead. They can’t be younger than you by like… ten years. What’s a ten year difference anyways?” Nachi mused. “You know you want to~”

But like any cliche meeting in New York, when something weird happened in the movies, you usually revisit the place the strange event occurred (why the heck did she have to think of this now, when it was too late to turn back?) and meet the people from the strange event as well. But this wasn't a movie, so maybe she'd turn up lucky. There were three people, figures for the time being. Two were tall, the other was shorter, with long hair. Purple long hair. Exactly what she was dreading, how did she not notice the purple locks that stood out so? The other two were less noticeable, so her eyes weren't immediately drawn to them, but from the looks of it they were both men, older than herself. Both of them didn't seem to take much notice to her. Maybe, maybe it wasn't too late to turn back now and just hope that none of them took sight of her and then jet the hell out of there. But knowing her luck (and relating her life to the movies), she was destined to stay here anyways.
The first problem was that she had strayed here and didn't turn back as soon as she could of, increasing the chance of one of them seeing her. Up to the point that someone did see her, as she saw the curtain of purple hair move her way. Joze was still hoping that it might just be a coincidence, she was just moving this way for another reason that really wasn't her. But then she let a frown of dismay escape her as the other girl chanced a wave. There goes any hope for a quiet escape. But she smiled anyways, put on a smile and waved back (with her right hand, which was clenching her sleeve in what she hoped to look natural). It was an absentminded thing, really, and she wanted to talk to the other, and perhaps confirm that what they had bore witness to was now just some spark of imagination. Then again, it could have been a shared illusion, though that was unlikely. Walking towards her, and closing the very far distance between them, she tried summoning up a memory of her name.
Oh wait. Purple hair. Her name was Katie! To make matters worse, and ultimately twenty times more awkward than it could have been, since she was the one who had, per say, healed Katie's leg. If it had actually happened. Which she was about seventy-five percent sure it had now, looking at the evidence and at what should have been a complete stranger acknowledging her as an acquaintance. And coming closer to the construction site, she could see the dents on the metal, the rather deep and irreparable dents it seemed. She should have factored in the newspaper article that was published (on the front page, too!) about the weather and location too, so it should have been much higher in her head. But maybe it was her reluctance to see the obvious impairing her from making the logical decision that what she had experienced was real and therefore everything she had learned about monsters being unreal was fake and that all adults were utter liars. Then again, maybe they had never seen what she had seen and were resigned to believe that such things were unreal and made of nightmares.
Cheerfully walking towards Katie, she remembered the other two men there too. Mostly because of some words that were exchanged in a not so secretive manner, almost begging to be overheard. But then again, she was close enough to hear only snippets of their conversation, which looked just a little one-sided. She could totally be getting the wrong idea at the moment, but emotions seized her yet again. This time she tried holding her tongue until she got a better grasp of what they were talking about. Unfortunately, there wasn't much else to be conveyed. Before she could completely process the situation and take the best course of action, her mouth got the better of her. "You guys know I can hear you, right?" But thinking it over now, what had she got to be desired? Seriously. Was something wrong with their eyes? |

Claire stepped off the bus with a soft sigh. She gave a small wave to the bus driver who sped off as soon as he had the chance to leave her behind. Claire shrugged her shoulders, people were allowed to be in sour moods, she would be a hypocrite if she said people shouldn't have one of those days. with her soft hazel eyes she stared at the direction she should start walking, she really should start the long treck home but something felt off. She tilted her hair to the side which sent her black hair tumbling down in it's loose wavy glory.
She slowly started to walk towards her apartment building with an odd feeling resting in her stomach, she had just come back from a date, a first date actually. It had ended before it had even started as she had waited for her date for about an hour before deciding to fuck him. She paused in her tracks as she thought she had heard something-apparently it was nothing as silence met her ears. She figured she was just trying to make up some reason why she is special, she was trying to avoid the fact she was eighteen and going no where in life. Claire reached into her grey hoodie pocket to pull out her ipod. She smiled slightly as the cool metal case touched her palms, it took her mere seconds to put in her earphones and start listening to the angriest music she had. She would have to be mad to avoid crying in the near future.
It was when she passed by a shrub did she notice it had moved. She knew she wasn't imagining the shaking of the leaves. She wondered if there was some animal hiding under it, the mere though that a poor kitten might be starving to death under the shrub instantly had her on her hands and knees gently lifting the shrub. Claire let out a loud scream, it was the only thing she had time to actually do.
---
Claire smiled as she glanced upon the metal structure in the near distance. She could feel the structure from where she stood but she felt something else there as well. It was almost as if she could sense other things like her there. She paused for a moment and shook her head causing black hair to cascade around her. They were different then her, they felt... strong but at the same time they felt normal. They almost felt really old. She hissed slightly, she started to run towards the metal structure, they had no right to be tainting such precious metal. She could feel the imprints of a past ice elemental but it was clear it was no longer around. How dare they trespass.
She paused when she reached the top of the hill, she glared down at the metal structure with enough force to actually cause her pain. She spotted the humans the second she saw them, there were four in total and they had some kind of affinity. She grimaced, one of them had a quite strong affinity actually. No matter, she had an affinity of her own they would have to deal with.
Claire cast her now red eyes upon the metal structure. She didn't have to lift a finger for the metal to start to bend ever so slightly. The cool surfaces all started to lean precariously towards the four humans, they wouldn't last long against her. Claire finally decided to kill them. Might as well get them out of the way now. She rose her hand rather slowly while she started to strut almost towards the metal structure. She focused her hand at a metal beam that happened to be on the ground, it started to warp as started to make a fist with her hand. The metal beam was slowly turning into what appeared to be a large metal ball with spikes covering it. She gave a chuckle to herself studying her handy work, she effortlessly released her hand causing the metal ball to go flying towards the group of humans. She hoped they liked to play catch cause she would love to play with them. Posting order will resume with Katie, best of luck and clearly no one gets numbers so this is totally you guys. Please note the fighting numbers will be calculated when the timing is appropriate. P.S. things to note, she is a level two elemental! HAVE FUN!

Katie gently ran a hand through her bright purple hair as she walked towards the smaller girl, it hadn't occurred to Katie that she knew practically nothing about the girl except they were both in the same freak boat. Katie couldn't help but still have the large smile plastered upon her face. She had actually missed her, near death experiences do bring people closer together.
Katie gave a sidelong glance to the two gentlemen, it was pretty clear they weren't trying to be private as Katie was having a hard time tuning them out. She had no problem pretending she didn't notice them pretty much eye raping them, she had learned to be ignorant but Joze's words had caught her off guard causing her to flinch. WHo knew such a small girl could yell so loud! Or have such a stern voice for that matter. Katie held back commenting to Joze but it didn't matter as she felt an intense pain in her head just at that moment.
Katie doubled over as she saw the metal ball flying through the air in her head. The image was gone as soon as it had appeared but the pain still remained in her head. She glanced around still doubled over before slowly starting to stand up straight. She noticed the girl a little ways off. It was i that moment she put it together, a large wrecking ball with spikes covering it lay on the floor in front of her. Katie blinked twice before letting out a shrill scream. "DUCK!"
Katie instinctively dropped to the ground and covered her head for dear life. She didn't need to look to know her vision was coming true, the large metal ball flying thought the air was a little hard to miss if you know it is coming. She knew she wouldn't have noticed the girl is she hadn't known to look. She shivered slightly noticing her palm was glowing a slight purple. Shit, just what she needed right now. She didn't know if everyone else was okay but she was pretty sure Joze and herself just drew in other freaks. Yes, he thought. Realize that I am not Nori and get the hell away from me. Sadly for the angry photographer, that did not happen. The taller male's face suddenly turned into what Nate could only describe as a mischiveous expession. "Ne, I suppose you're awful cranky without Kura here, eh Nori? I bet you're not looking for any other 'source of relief' right?"
It took Nate's mind a moment to process what was being said but the overall message was clear. If Kura was a girl then the 'source of relief' that this guy was talking about was... Dear lord... Nate went from extremely angry to angry and slightly embarrassed. While he was not a virgin, it had been quite a while since he had any, as the stranger had put so eloquently, 'relief.' He could feel his face beginning to grow warmer as a result.
"Poor Nori~! You almost fooled me into thinking you were someone else completely different," said the stranger before turning his attention off to something in the distance. Nate turned in that direction to see the purple haired girl join a petite blond girl at the other end of the lot. "Hey Nori, how about we go talk to those cute girls over there? Maybe they'll want some fun." The lunatic then began to tug on his arm in an attempt to drag him over to the two women. "And who knows? Maybe you'll get over Kura and go with one of them instead. They can't be younger than you by like... ten years. What's a ten year age difference anyways? You know you want to~"
[classy=sand]Nate just stared at the man with disbelief. Ten year age difference? First of all, he was only twenty years old and secondly, a ten year age difference actually amounts to a lot in this society. There were a few choice words for people like this but he could not be too harsh. No doubt this person escaped from some sort of mental hospital and Nate would rather not be seen as the evil person who abused a mental patient. Even if said mental patient was getting on his nerves and was talking like he was a pedophile.[/classy]
"Dense aren't you?" asked the younger male in a calmer tone. "Listen to me very carefully," he said slowly. "I am not your brother Nori. My name is Nathaniel Brandt and I am twenty years old. You may call me Nate.Do you know which hospital you came from? Or even which direction you came from? I'm sure people are looking for you and if you just go back in that direction you'll be sure to find your way home. Then you can get your medicine and get better." Nate hoped that he understood what he was saying. The faster this guy was out of his hair the better. Then he could get home peacefully and without further embarrassment.
“You guys know I can hear you right?”
The sane male turned to the sound of the voice. It was the blonde girl and she did not look very pleased with the way their conversation was going. Not my fault this guy decided to bother me, he thought, annoyed. The idea of an apology came to mind. But, I don’t feel like apologizing for something that’s not my fault, he told himself.
Nate opened his mouth to clear up any confusion about his relation to the man. Only to be cut off when the purple haired girl screamed, “DUCK!” Nate looked up at the direction the girl was looking at only to see a large metal wrecking ball speeding toward them. Nate gave up all his will to control his emotions and abilities at that point. Luckily, the sudden release of wind aided Nate in his short journey to the ground. Unluckily, the ground is hard and rocky and he felt his palms being scratched by the gravel. Too terrified to get up, Nate just laid there and kept his frantic thoughts to himself.
That’s it. I’m cursed aren’t I? This is the third time this month that something has tried to kill me and now I’ve revealed the stupid wind to people again. Fuck my life. ________________________

His “brother” was just standing there with disbelief completely washed over his features. What the hell was he standing there like a buffoon for? Could his brother really be that out of it? Honestly, he could never recall a time where his brother was really this out of it or even confused. Did he hit his head on a rock or something or is the lack of sex just totally getting to him? the young Shirokane wondered to himself until his “brother’s” voice snapped him out of his thoughts.
"Dense aren't you?"
Nachi immediately cocked his head to the side in mild wonder. What was he calling him dense for? Sure, he had been called that more than a few times by the ever lovely Shin’ya and his wonderful brother (along with his father on some occasion), but why now? Perhaps it has to do with the fact that you’re suggesting he cheat on Kura after being in a relationship with her for such a long time, his moral side stated. It sounded plausible, but Nachi being the way he was, he completely shut out that option as he continued listening to the calm male.
"Listen to me very carefully… I am not your brother Nori. My name is Nathaniel Brandt and I am twenty years old. You may call me Nate. Do you know which hospital you came from? Or even which direction you came from? I'm sure people are looking for you and if you just go back in that direction you'll be sure to find your way home. Then you can get your medicine and get better."
Hospital? Medicine? Nate? What madness was Nori spouting all of a sudden? Sure, there was a deep part of him that wasn’t at all sure that this man in front of him was even Nori. But the appearance was far too uncanny to think any different. His hair was a little longer, sure. And so what if he suddenly looked a bit younger than what Nachi remembered? He could just be… Wait, what the hell was going on with his eyes? Nori was never one to wear contacts for any sort of reason, so to find his normally platinum eyes to be a deep purple-blue color was a bit… well, he was half convinced that this guy really wasn’t Nori. But it was only half.
Nachi was about to open up his mouth to ask “Nori” if he had been visited by The Green Fairy lately when he heard some little voice from behind the two males declaring that the duo could be heard. He quickly turned on his heel and say that it was the little blondie who had spoken up. She wasn’t pleased from the expression on her face, so Nachi offered her a cheery grin. She really was an adorable creature. And the girl with the purple hair next to the blondie was easy on the eyes too. Needless to say, a few unsavory thoughts came to mind involving both girls.
"DUCK!"
“Eh?” he muttered out while he snapped out of his daze, only to hear the groaning of metal and for his silver eyes to fall on a metal ball rushing towards them. Eyes wide, he felt a sudden rush of wind as Nachi threw himself on the ground. What the hell was that? he wondered as he caught something from the corner of his eye. He could see a figure in the distance. He couldn’t really tell what the figure was, but he knew it was standing there watching them. The only question he could come up with was: why?
“Well, it seems like today’s gonna be interesting,” he mused aloud with a pleased smile on his face.[/style] | [atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, padding-left: 15px,bTable][STYLE=border: 4px solid #222222; width: 100px; height: 100px; float:bottom][/style][STYLE=font-family: georgia; font-size: 27px; color:#222222; letter-spacing: -4px; line-height: 22px; float: top;]I'm known for taking what I think I deserve[/style] |

Honestly, what was she thinking, just blurting out what she thought? She had obviously known better, and yet she felt that impulsive need to let her feelings be known and was powerless to stop it. Joze knew she needed to keep a level head, they were just idiots who didn't deserve the time of day. Really, what was she to gain from this, anyways? Provoking them wasn't the best decision she had ever made (at the very least, hopefully they would not find this provoking), and she very much wished those words to have never come out of her mouth. But what could she do - travel back in time and covered her own mouth? That would be a bit paradoxical, if you asked her. Might as well live with the consequences, though really, how much could a slip of the tongue cost her?
The look of displeasure over what the men had been talking about was still evident in her face, and no matter how much she tried she could not get rid of it from her face. Still, what were they, pedophiles? She couldn't look more than sixteen, and then again no one would take her much for a sixteen year old anyways, going for the alternative, fourteen year old route. So that made it even worse! Her first impulse was to run the hell away from there and never turn back in hopes of not getting molested by some strange men back there. Then her second thought was over to Katie. Though she was probably older and could take care of herself, Joze could not help but feel concern towards her (perhaps it was because she had 'saved her life' just weeks before), and running away would just be a bit cowardly, not to mention selfish if she just left Katie to her own devices. Even if she could probably take care of herself better than Joze ever could. But still, the best course of action would be to leave, although maybe it was a little hasty.
Call her lucky (or maybe just unlucky), but she wouldn't be bother with such a trifle as child molesters, because the next thing she knew she saw Katie double down in what seemed to be pain. For a moment of worry, Joze started to run closer to check if she was alright, but she was standing back up. She barely had time to breathe a sigh of relief before the brilliant purple headed girl yelled for her to duck. The alarm in her eyes seemed realistic, and Joze complied, curious as to what would have made the girl say such a thing. She was a little slow to duck, though, because she wanted to know what she was ducking from (which was a very silly and rather dangerous thing to do, little did she know). She could feel a scream of terror rip through her throat as she threw herself on the ground, probably breaking something in the process, though she didn't hear any tell-tale snapping or crunching noises, though her nose was in a bit of pain due to the fact that when she flung herself onto the ground, she face planted herself into the concrete. She lifted her head slightly, the wind suddenly picking up speed and power. What... what the heck? A figure in the distance, huh? What did that remind her of? Think back, weeks ago, except it was cold and she was shivering, and she was against someone throwing icicles with bad aim. This time, it was metal balls with spikes. How the hell did it come to this?!
Why in the world did she make the decision to come here? What - every single time. At least, she knew she could attempt healing again if someone got hurt. If she remembered how to from last time. But still, she hit her palm. No need to use it now, no need to give herself away quite yet. |

Claire frowned slightly as she watched them duck, The elemental guessed she would have to play around with them before killing them then. She shrugged slightly, more fun for her, it wasn't her fault they decided not to die right away. Claire's smile slowly crept it's way across her face as she pondered how to play with her new toys. It was when she spotted yet another metal beam did she notice the large burst of wind. She watched in slow motion as her giant piece of metal propelled its' way off course from it's target. She glanced at the man who still stood like the one bowling pin who refused to move. He instantly ducked moments later, didn't matter what he did, she was going to have fun.
She scanned over the four humans scattered in front of her, her hand slightly quivering to manipulate the closest metal beam. She knew one of them wasn't quite human after all. She squinted her red eyes and tried to focus on the man who had done such horrid things to her little wrecking ball. how dare he!? She thought to herself as she tried to gauge how powerful he was. She smiled slightly piecing things together, he was new to his gift. She didn't hesitate as she slowly closed her fist in mid air, they didn't stand a chance.
The metal beam didn't resist her influence as it instantly dissipated into an inky substance that seemed to float a couple feet of the ground. The liquid metal seemed to flow rather intricately as Claire decided if she should take down the threat first or take out the others as they stood in her way. The power that surrounded her surpassed the other man, she was sure of it but she couldn't quite tell how strong he was. She had witnessed him harness the power of the wind which meant he was strong as it took a lot of force to redirect metal. At the same time she could sense other elemental powers on him, she couldn't tell for sure but she could have sworn she sensed some spirit and water magic in the air.
No matter, Claire slowly opened her fist to face the general direction of the four humans. She figured she might as well have fun and slowly weaken him while killing the others who got in her way. The liquid metal soared towards the four humans but parted as it approached them, it quickly swirled around the general area of all five of them within the construction lot. The metal rotated around them every so often shifting forms to something lethal-from miniature spiking balls to long thin razor sharp blades. The smile on Claire's face was a little bit too happy to about to try and kill innocent people. She didn't care, they had to serve her master one way or another.
Claire turned ever so slightly so she could see the metal structure better. She stared at them totally ignoring the others. She didn't have time to waste her focus on them, and besides her liquid metal would keep them from running away from her. They would die fighting, a nice way to die even though she knew it would be a shameful defeat for them. The metal beams that held up the structure wobbled ever so slightly as she tried to summon them to do her will.
She hadn't been awakened to long ago but she knew she was pretty much defenseless at the moment, at least she knew something. She rolled her eyes as the liquid metal started to shrink in circumference. She would squeeze them to death first if they tried anything. The shifting metal shapes floated closer and closer as it started to shrink forcing the four humans to either try and escape somehow or be herded like sheep to the middle.
Posting order resumes with Katie. Good luck!

She hadn't realized how hard she had hit the cement. She glanced at her hand and noticed cuts and bruises littering them along with her stupid glowing tattoo thing. She wished it would stop doing that but she just decided she would just hide it for now. She had no real idea what was happening even though just moments ago she was pretty sure she had seen her death coming seconds before it had almost killed her. Katie had glanced up just in time to see one of the boys duck but not before she noticed the metal ball thing gets nocked a side just the slightest with a large gust of wind. She wasn't quite sure if she had imagined it or she was just drugged by someone making her see things.
Her purple hair flew in the large gust of wind but she didn't have time to make herself look presentable as she quickly glanced at the others to see if they were alright. She sighed a breath of relief when she saw all three heads on their shoulders where they belonged. By the time Katie had glanced back at the girl who had tried to kill them she witnessed the strangest thing ever.
A shiny silver liquid seemed to snake it's way towards them and then slowly start to circle them. It was all the encouragement Katie needed to stand up. She quickly heaved herself off the ground while still hiding her rune, she somehow also managed to avoid getting blood on herself. They were just a couple cuts and bruises but they stung non the less and even bled just the slightest. That was annoying to say the least. Katie tried to examine the metal the was revolving around the group now, it seemed to be shifting. It didn't occur to her that it was shifting into shapes that would hurt them upon touching them.
She knew better than to try and run past it but she still felt something click inside her. It wasn't her seeing something but the realization she wasn't alone. She stole a sideways glance at the other three people. Joze had some weird magic happening and so did the guy with the wind. She wanted to say something but all she did was slowly start to back up. The liquid metal was coming closer and closer. She could now make out the threatening objects that hovered around them. She yelped slightly as she took a couple more frightened steps back. This crazy bitch was going to squish them all together like some kind of herd. She cussed under her breathe. She could kind of tell what the crazy bitch was up to but couldn't quite decided how to avoid the problem.
She glanced over to the girl who happened to be staring at the metal frame structure that had been covered in frost a couple weeks ago. It quivered ever so slightly but still held it's place. It didn't take a genius to realize they were so screwed. "Anyone have any ideas on how to live?" she would suggest running but that would mean having to run through the shifting metal. She wished that black haired girl was in the circle with them-Katie would have beaten her to a pulp already. Not fair that she was safely concentrating outside the circle.
