★ at first glance, nori may seem a little hard to approach. perhaps his stoic disposition and seriousness shoos people away, or perhaps it's his default scowling expression. regardless, nori considers himself to be a fairly friendly person. even around strangers, he never really intends to give anyone the cold shoulder.
★ too many nosy, prying people have led nori to being reserved. especially with he doesn't know too well, nori doesn't really like talking about himself or the past and generally tries to lead the conversation else where. he usually tries to keep his conversations (if he has to make conversation, that is. unlike other people, nori doesn't find silence awkward in the slightest) short and sweet. nori is a little more open when he is with people he is familiar with. he is a looser when talking with kura or nachi. yue is the person that makes him talk the most though. the little girl has a curious nature and she's constantly asking him questions and requiring long answers with lots of explaining.
★ boredom is man's worst enemy. some people might be content with just being able to sit around and do nothing but that's just plain boring to nori. a little break here and there from the stress of daily life but nori is one of those people who always need something to keep his hands busy. if nothing else, he can at least spin and flip a pen around in his hand.
★ if nori could find a way to interact mainly with just cadavers and inanimate objects for the rest of his life, he would do it in a heartbeat. sadly, reality isn't so ideal. nori is kind of clueless when it comes to people, whether it's reading them, comforting them, giving advice, anything -- he's just not good at it and chances are, he'd make the angry angrier and the sad sadder. perhaps it's because nori is kind of slow. he could follow you word for word when it comes to obscure conditions like cerebellar schistosomiasis or pulmonary hypoplasia but beyond the medical babble, nori is like a dancer with two left feet, only in his case, it's two left tongues.
★ most of the time, it's the little insignificant things, like books with dog-eared pages or the many innocous pens laying around with empty ink cartilages, bother nori. other times, it's bigger things, like a certain creeping bastard, that make irritation bubble up in him merely by being around him too much. but regardless of what it is, nori gets annoyed rather easily.
★ territoriality seems to run in the family. maybe protective is a better word. unlike his brother, nori has a desire to prevent those he care about from being hurt, both physically and emotionally. nori is a little behind in the times when it comes to women and them as fragile creatures that should be protected. he did it with tsukiko back when mamoru went around openly with his whores by keeping the woman distracted and far away from his father's and his shameful acts.
★ there are occasions when nori gets so into whatever he's working on that he doesn't notice time has passed until he looks at a clock or out the window. he is a bit of a workaholic.
★ if you ask him about the mess that is his apartment, he'd just say that he likes his things all spread out where he can see them and locate them easily. but we all know that's not the truth...

○ The oldest of three siblings (second if you count his half brother), Nori is the son of a wealthy businessman. Though some might disagree, he lived a fairly normal, if not boring, childhood. There was the kid stuff -- learning to ride a bike without training wheels, waking up early on Saturdays to watch cartoons, y'know, the basic things that most kids do. Then there were other things, like the social functions Mamoru made him attend the moment he was old enough to talk. Needless to say, Nori found these extremely boring. But other than the occasional social function and that one German Shepard incident, Mamoru also sent Nori to public school, not wanting his son to get it into his head that being rich was a big deal (even if it kinda was). School wasn't bad per se, but sometimes, it made Nori want to go find a hidey hole and live in it for the rest of his life. Kids in the younger grades are just a little curious, but as he got older, things like gossip mills and girls that drove Nori crazy, so he just tried to keep to himself most of the time.[/blockquote]
○ The arrival of his half brother, Fuu, was a bit of a surprise though. Though Nori was eleven at the time and fairly acquainted with the birds and the bees by that time, he never thought that his mother, his stern but kind mother, of all people would go and do such a thing with another man. However, Nori neither treated the boy with resent, like Nachi did, nor did he accept the boy as a brother. His attitude towards Fuu was kind of detached; he treated the older boy like he was a stranger living with them for an indefinite amount of time. But Nachi was always the mischievous one, always managing to drag Nori in one way or another into his pranks. Regardless of who's prank it was to begin with, both brothers faced Tsukiko's wrath when she caught wind of their pranks.
○ Things got a little turbulent now and then around the house as the years went by. There was one big argument between Mamoru and Tsukiko and the man disappeared for a few days. When he came back, he brought other women with him. Beautiful, shameless women with fake, painted faces that flirted openly with the businessman. Though Tsukiko didn't seem to care, Nori still got angry at Mamoru and more than once purposefully made him angry. Verbal,and a couple of times physical, fights between Mamoru and Nori became increasingly. At the same time, Mamoru being the idiot he is, worried that his sixteen year old son was venting out his sexual frustrations on him, often set him up on blind dates, which annoyed Nori to no end. The kind of girls Mamoru set him up with were the rich, high society girls -- all prettied up in their designer clothes and mask of make up like little dolls made just to please the eye. Though they sometimes annoyed him, Nori did end up dating a couple of girls like this for very short amounts of time but found them a bit too brainless for his taste.
○ In his senior year of high school, Nori met sophomore Kura Chinatsu. She threw him for a loop at first, being the willful and stubborn girl she is. The girl was different from the ones his father set him up with and the ones that hung around their house with Nachi. She intrigued him and Nori often found himself taking little detours so he could have a little squabble with the girl before continuing on with whatever he was doing. Halfway through the school year, the two started dating and continued their relationship even after he graduated and went to college.
○ Nori spent his freshman year of university at NYU as a business major as per Mamoru's wishes. However, after taking a volunteer job at an animal hospital on a whim, Nori became interested in the medical field. His parents had mixed reactions to this decision. While Tsukiko wholly support, Mamoru wanted Nori to inherit his company and the two had a big argument about it, resulting in Nori getting disowned and kicked out. This did not discourage him in the slightest. He was ever a slacker and with his good grades, he was able to pay part of his tuition with scholarship money and the rest with a couple of part time jobs and a little help from Tsukiko.
○ Things went smoothly until Nori was twenty two. Tsukiko was rushed to the hospital and for a few painful hours, Nori wated with his father and brother with bated breath as Tsukiko gave birth to her baby five weeks too early. Though she passed away, Nori took some comfort in the fact that his little sister had lived. As he finished his last eight months of undergraduate school, Nori spent much of his time at the Shirokane mansion, a place that he hadn't really stepped foot in in the last couple of years. The reason was because he couldn't trust a couple of womanizers and a legion of obedient staff to raise the baby girl. At times like these, Kura would often keep him company. Sometimes, they would lost track of time and a girl, Shin'ya, whose parents were close friends with Kura's parents, would come and find her. This in itself created problems, but those were mostly Nachi's.
○ Because of Yue, Nori decided to stay at NYU for his medical degree. Tsukiko had left him with quite a bit of an inheritance and at the age of twenty three, he moved out of NYU's dorms and into a small apartment in Central with Kura, who was twenty at the time. The next several years were relatively quiet. He graduated at the age of twenty six and went on to an anatomical pathology residency. In his third year of residency, when he was twenty nine, Kura got accepted to a university overseas in Europe. She decided to go study there and after a brief argument, Nori reluctantly let her go. Currently, they are keeping their relationship long distance.
