She does the basic behind the scenes jobs. Trista walks the dogs, cleans up after them and sometimes fosters the dogs. Besides that she works as a stunt double for actors in movies and television shows. Her sister works as a director, so when shows/movies are shot in New York she hooks her sister up with the stunt gigs. Trista has a degree in Psychology. Trista really wants to be a detective of some sort, but so far no place will let her intern. ○ Living Situation Trista lives with one other roommate in an apartment. The apartment itself is actually quite small, with only two bedrooms, a kitchen and a small sitting area. Trista lives with a childhood friend of hers because he also didn’t have a secure living situation and neither wanted to move back with their parents. Trista tries to liven up the space by painting random “abstract” pictures and hanging them up on the walls. She calls them art, but who really knows? ○ Appearance Let’s start from the top and work our way down, shall we? Trista has light brown hair, cut short so it falls to her chin. She has bangs that hang across her forehead, stopping at just above her eyes. Now her eyes she gets from her mother, who has the same pair of light green eyes, it sort of runs in her mother’s side of the family. Unlike a majority of green eyes, Trista’s eyes are rather light. Her eyes are more of a mint green than an emerald green, I suppose.
Trista is quite pale, but that’s no surprise. Her whole family is pale. It also doesn’t help that Trista can’t tan to save her life. She either burns or stays the same consistent shade of pale. Also similar to her mother, Trista has a slim figure. She’s roughly 5’6” with long legs and barely any hips. Despite already hitting puberty, Tris has a slightly curvy figure with breasts that could hardly be considered large by anyone’s standards. Still, Trista is quite happy with the way she looks.
Trista’s sense of fashion is…well…interesting at best. She has a strange obsession with boots and owns far too many pairs than she needs. She’s got hooker boots, commando boots, snow boots, gogo boots, and many many more. Besides her obsession with boots, Trista loves skirts and pants equally and sometimes even pairs the two together. She just sort of throws her outfits together on a whim and goes from there. She couldn’t really be considered “fashionable” but at the same time her outfits aren’t a complete horror. Trista is simply Trista.
PART 02 SPECIFICS ○ Possible Affinities fire or earth ○ Personality TRUTHFUL: Trista is the type of girl to constantly tell the truth. She’ll tell you if you’re looking cute that day or if what you just did was stupid. She’s brutally honest with everyone. Now, there isn’t usually malice behind her words, she just thinks that everyone deserves to know the truth. Because of the way her parents handled their divorce when she was young, Trista values honesty to the extreme. Therefore, she’s truthful with everyone because she wants them to be truthful with her. She doesn’t always enjoy being brutally honest with people, but she still pushes herself to tell the truth.
AFFECTIONATE: Trista loves hugs. She’s constantly hugging people and shows her affection very openly. Many times it just seems like Trista loves everyone. Towards her friends and family, she’s especially affectionate. Trista will tackle her friends in a burst of excitement or launch herself onto the couch so she can snuggle with her sister. Her affection isn’t merely shallow. Trista has a surprising amount of compassion for others. Though she doesn’t always like for it to be obvious, Trista tries to help people when she can. She’s more likely to take up a role as a martyr than actually be the hero of a story.
RUTHLESS: Trista is no saint. While she likes to try to help people, she also has quite a bad habit of holding grudges. Tris will always get revenge if she feels that someone somehow wronged her or someone close to her. She’s quite ruthless in her quest for redemption in every situation. Tris is a scrappy lass who will fight with tooth and nail to get what she wants. She’s a good person to have in a fight because of how fervently she throws herself into the fray.
CRUDE: Growing up, Trista generally hung around a lot of boys. Therefore, she grew up listening to crude humor and “that’s what she said” jokes. It definitely left its mark on her. Trista will be the first to jump in and pull a “that’s what she said” joke. She’s not above crude humor by any means. Besides that, Trista has quite a potty mouth on her. She’ll throw down swears like a sailor.
STRONG-WILLED: It’s quite difficult to break Trista down. She has a very strong will and that usually leads her into trouble. She’s ridiculously stubborn and won’t back down until she gets what she thinks that she deserves. Trista will fight anyone until the last breath and probably then some. She doesn’t usually get down on herself and has a pretty substantial amount of self-esteem. Because of this, Trista has a lot of faith in herself (sometimes to the point of cockiness).
UNPREDICTABLE: Many of things Trista does are random and come from basically nowhere. She likes to keep people on their toes and attempts to surprise people constantly. Trista always works toward breaking her own personal records. She’ll always accept a dare, no matter how crazy or outlandish it is. Trista gets herself into a lot of trouble because of this trait, but honestly she believes that her life is more fun because of it. Trista is just a ball full of crazy energy. ○ History Trista Rae Archer, born on a rather hot day in June, second child to Carter and Stacey Archer, had a pretty normal childhood. Her elder sister, Juliet, was about three years older than her. As a young child, Trista used to follow her sister around and try to imitate her every action. Her parents thought it was rather strange, but Juliet loved it. She constantly told her sister what to do and Trista just did it. Juliet would dress Trista up in random outfits and parade her around the neighborhood, grinning widely while the neighbors commented on how adorable little Trista looked. Trista didn’t really mind it, but after a while her attention began to shift from Juliet.
Trista loved to play outside as a child. She’d run out of the house and go climb a tree, or sprint toward a pile of leaves and cannonball into them. Juliet generally didn’t join her sister on these adventures because Juliet had quite a large fear of bugs. Once when the pair was outside, a bug hopped off one of the tree branches and landed in Juliet’s hair. Let’s just say that Juliet stayed inside for a while after that. Trista, on the other hand, could roll in mud and be perfectly fine.
On one of her adventures outside, Trista ran into a group of the neighborhood boys. And by ran into, I mean quite literally ran into them. The boys were outside playing soccer, running across the connected yards. Trista had just run outside to go play. The boys were just passing her house as she ran out, and Trista turned back to respond to her mother when she smacked straight into one of the boys. The two of them toppled over, disrupting the soccer game. Trista shot to her feet and stomped over to the boy.
“Why did you run into me?!” She exclaimed, pointing at him angrily while he stood up. The boy looked at her like she was crazy. “You’re the one that ran out of the house without looking!” “You shouldn’t have been running through my yard like that, stupid!” “You can’t tell me what to do, poop face!”
And with that, Trista launched herself at the boy. She tackled him to the ground and straddled him, pushing his face into the ground while she shouted: “I am not a poop face!” The other boys chuckled, but none the less helped pry Trista off the first boy. The boy stood up again and spat out some dirt from his mouth, glaring at Trista while he did. Trista stuck her tongue out at him. One of the other boys approached her and clapped her on the back, grinning while he did it. She was invited to play soccer with the boys after that.
For years, Trista hung around with the same group of friends. In her group there were about five boys. They all always hung out together and stayed friends into high school. Trista was the wildcard of the group. She was always the most daring and sometimes the most violent. But, the group still got along great and Trista really did love her boys. Sadly, high school was the time when Trista’s parents dropped a bomb. For years they had been pretending to still be in love while actually their love of each other was dwindling. The pair fought more and more over the years until finally they decided to split.
Carter and Stacey sat down Trista and Juliet one night. Trista was anxious to hurry up the family meeting so she could get out of the house of go see that new horror movie with her friends. Carter and Stacey began to explain their situation until they finally just said it: “We are getting divorced.” Trista stood up from her chair and knocked it back from her momentum. Her parents asked her to calm down while they explained that over the years they had forgotten why they loved each other. They had been planning on getting a divorce for years but they wanted to wait until Juliet at least started college. Trista was furious. How could her parents lie to her for all those years? Pretending that they were one big happy family? She left the house without another word, practically running to her car.
True to their words, her parents got a divorce. Both parties began dating other people soon after. During Trista’s senior year, she was forced to attend not one but two weddings. Carter and Stacey both got married within a few months of each other. Trista gained five new step-siblings, three from her dad’s wife and two from her mom’s husband. Suddenly their family was just a mess of people. Trista bounced from one house to the other each week, finding it difficult to adjust to her new siblings. Thankfully, she left for college soon after.
Throughout her life, Trista had been involved in gymnastics. Her mother signed her up as a child and Trista just continued with it throughout her life. She was even on the high school team and managed to place in state. In college, Trista helped teach part-time at the local gym. She never really planned to go to the Olympics or anything. One of her friends introduced her to parkour during her Sophomore year of college. With all those years of gymnastics under her belt, Trista was a natural at it. She continued to practice all through her college years as well.
Juliet moved on to become a big time director. That was really how Trista got her start in stunt work. Her sister was crunched for time and needed a few stunts done. The actor had chickened out the last minute and Juliet didn’t have any stunt people lined up. She called up Trista and begged her sister to help out, so she did. After that, Trista began getting more and more calls until she was actually a pretty well-known stunt double. But, because of the sporadic nature of her job, she needed a more substantial way to make money. She took a job at the local dog shelter. The pay was pretty good and Trista loved animals anyway.
With a substantial income, Trista and one of her old guy friends decided to get an apartment together. Trista didn’t want to try to live in one of her parents’ homes because it was just too awkward. So, the two bought a rather small apartment in the city. Trista finished college with a degree in Psychology, but what she really wanted to do was detective work. Trista tried to see if she could possibly intern at one of the police stations, but was denied because she lacked connections. So, for now she just lives as a stunt double and a caretaker of dogs. In her spare time she does some “detective work” for her friends, but that basically amounts to her following around one of their girlfriends to see if she’s cheating.
