○ Proud; Like anyone good at what they do, Alicia is a proud creature. She knows what she is good at, and she isn’t remotely modest about any of it. Unfortunately, her pride makes her very stubborn, and this, coupled with her cynicism, makes her unwilling to ask for the aid of the others. She would rather twist in the wind than swallow her pride long enough to admit that she can't do something on her own. If and when aid is given, however, Alicia will play coy, or even pull off gratitude... if the situation is dire enough. On an internal level, she's very likely to convince herself that she could have handled it on her own, or that it was none of their concern.
○ Tease; A very modern, liberated woman, Alicia has no problem using her sexuality to her advantage. Preying upon the weakness of men is not only a great pass time, but it has its various uses, from persuading someone, serving as a form of distraction, or being an ideal method of torture. But she's much more than a tease. She’s also fairly gifted actress, and uses these abilities to her advantage.
○ Manipulative Liar; Her deceitful nature isn't limited to her life of crime, however. While far from a compulsive liar, Alicia skirts around the truth, and habitually plays coy, or flat out lies, particularly when people try to get to know her better. This, once again, is tied in with her reluctance to confide in just about anyone. Even those that she might trust are completely unaware of some of the very risky choices she makes.
○ Competitive; Surprisingly, if someone doesn't fall for her act, Alicia is far more likely to be impressed than angry - she enjoys a battle of wits. Hell, she enjoys a worthy adversary--she just doesn't like losing. Her pride makes her have a competitive edge, and causes her to strive to be the best of the best.
○ Thrill Junkie; The thief is a thrill-seeker at heart. Between her pride and her adrenaline junkie status, she likes to flirt with danger, and dance with death far more closely than most people would be willing. Increasingly jaded, it takes more and more danger for Alicia to feel the same rush as before. Alicia will walk from the ledge of a building, and be so confident in her abilities as to roll or jump at the last possible moment to safety. She's even begun to break into guarded facilities, or come to the aid of those in trouble. Unfortunately, coming to the aid of others, while somewhat out of compassion, is mostly out of a hunger for thrills. The only other motivation for her danger, besides an addiction, is a thirst to prove herself. The harder it is to get something, the better she feels once she actually has it.
○ Moral Code; Last, but not least, is Alicia's twisted code of ethics. In Alicia's mind, there are very few black and whites, if such a concept even exists at all. Almost any crime or action can be justified in the moment, from murderous acts of vengeance, to stealing out of necessity. Perhaps the only people she cares about are hard criminals--people who purposely threaten the well being of others. And we aren't talking about stealing. If you commit arson, rape, or murder for your jollies, you're bad news in her book. While a criminal herself, and formerly an assassin, Alicia is surprisingly non-violent, and will only hurt other people if absolutely necessary, or to save others. ... But this doesn't mean that she wouldn't commit murder, if pushed.

○ Alicia Megraw, born Ilana del Conte, was the daughter of Johnny del Conte and Vanessa del Conte. Both of whom were mobsters for a local branch of one of Chicago's mafia families.[/blockquote]
○ In her youth, Ilana was kept in the dark about her family's activities. All she knew was that Johnny and her mother visited her uncle, Raphael, a lot. And she knew that their family was very tight-knit from the number of relatives that were constantly around and mentioned by name. She knew that her family was wealthy, and met with very influential people. But, beyond that, very little was explained. She was groomed with a sense of family and loyalty above all else--even against society and morality, though not as blatantly worded as that.
○ Other than that, she was rewarded. Ilana was a very spoiled little girl, from the amount of gifts she received to the attention that was given to her, to private tutors. Almost everything she asked for, she got. It was impressed upon her that she was special, and her natural abilities, including her intellect, were honed considerably.
○ As Ilana became older, things were gradually hinted to her, until, at the age or twelve, when they thought that she could fully grasp the situation without betraying their trust, she was informed of her family's... importance to the city. She was told that she would have a place in the family, and without really thinking that she could refuse the offer, she accepted. She was never initially exposed to anything too scandalous, for fear of alienating her, but was told a variety of things, and showed the ins and outs. She was taught how to know when someone was lying, taught how to told convincing lies herself, taught how to know when someone was going to attack her, and how to defend herself, even how to spy on people for valuable information.
○ It was when she started getting older that they involved her more heavily. At the age of 16, she was taught how to crack safes and pick locks. From there she progressed into higher security systems, from hacking computers to bypassing electronic keypads. At the age of 18, she had become damn good at it. From there, her family gradually sent her out on missions with others, to acclimate her to their business. Spying, investigations, blackmail jobs, racketeering, heists... and eventually, enforcement. The gradual introduction had been successful, as Ilana was fully desensitized to some of the atrocities commit by the time she witnessed enforcement.
○ At the age of twenty, she was allowed to do assignments on her own, each one more difficult than the last. Other than a few minor problems, she proved herself time and again, and was quickly being considered a valuable asset by Raphael.
○ At twenty-two, something went wrong. Raphael's hitman had broken his hand, and the target was going to be taken into federal custody if they didn't act quickly. Ilana volunteered herself to perform the hit. After some reluctance, Raphael gave her the target's location, and told her to carry it out. She did. And more surprisingly, she did it without much in the way of hesitance. It was quick and clean--the kind of jobs that Raphael wanted. From then on out, Ilana was the hitman.
○ Murder had its rewards. While Ilana and her family had been pretty well off before, the kind of money she was getting now was considerably more. When she wasn't killing people, she was going on vacation--anywhere she pleased, for as long as she wanted, in the nicest rooms she wanted. Money was no object.
○ It was on a vacation to Oregon that she met Rachel, a politician's daughter, though she was unaware of that at the time, and also a Chicago native. The two met at a club, and were quickly friends--Ilana's first true friend outside of her extended family network. But sometimes, they were even more than friends. When Ilana wasn't traveling around to do hits, she was either in Chicago with her family, or with Ilana. Over the years, the two had an on-again-off-again romance, which eventually fizzled out when Rachel decided to get married. The man was Eric Olbermann, an aspiring politician. Ilana took the news surprisingly well, and remained Rachel's friend nonetheless.
○ It was when Eric decided to become the district attorney and start a new war on crime that things became problematic. As the tensions rose between the feds and Ilana's family, at the age of twenty seven, she was asked to do the unthinkable. To murder Rachel's husband. For the first time in her life, Ilana was unable to. She was unable to do as her family asked. Unwilling to show her hesitation, she acted as though she would carry out her orders.
○ In the dead of night, she called Rachel and told her that something was going to happen. She couldn't tell her what, just that her husband was in over his head, and the two of them needed to leave the city, or prepare for the worst. Rachel was skeptical at first, but with some insistence, Rachel acted on her friend's words. Ilana didn't wait around to see what would happen. She knew that her family would take her betrayal unkindly--she knew that they would find out she was responsible. She returned home, to pack all of her belongings, and fled.
○ She changed her name, appearance, everything, and moved across the country. In spite of having a vast amount of wealth, she surrounded herself in poverty in New York for several months. As time progressed, she gradually felt the heat come off of her, and began to do something different than assassinating, as she figured that could draw more attention back to her.
○ Since then, she's been a criminal of a different kind.
